Company pays employees to volunteer
Conservice has implemented a program wherein employees get two paid hours every month to volunteer at non-profit organizations in Cache Valley.
“Last month we helped at the Senior Center and some people went and cleaned Sardine Canyon,” said Nathan Hanks, an office manager at Conservice. “It’s a lot of fun and a great way to give back to the community.”
Dave Jenkins, president of Conservice, said that employees are notified of different charity events happening in the community, but they can volunteer at any non-profit organization of their choosing.
In a report released in September, Conservice announced that it was proud to have contributed to over 1460 hours in August alone.
“It’s always nice to give back to the community and we’re doing pretty well here,” said Jenkins. “It was the right thing to do.”
Jenkins said that the company trusts their employees and treats them like adults, letting them choose the time and place to use their hours.
